A' EXTE:!SIO*10F TI."E II; UHICH TO RESP 0:19 TO ALAB-657 Intervenors York Comittee for a Safe Environment and Central Penn-sylvania Committee on Nuclear Power request an extensioti of. time in which to file a response to ALAS-657 in the above captioned case.

The legal representative of these intervening parties is not in town.

I have foniarded the Appeal Board's Decision to him, but the timing co-incides with the official Thanksgiving holiday and may delay his receiving it.

In order that the Intervenors' representative may hcVe ca adequate umuunt of tir,e to consider and prepare a response to ALA3-G57, we request an extension until December 20, 1931.

Secause this Decisidn concerns the dis.1issa1 of a construction perait application that was originally filed in July,1973, and because nearly a year has passed since the Applicant moved to withdraw its application, it is apparent that no, serious adverse consequences for the Aoplicant or the NRC Staff would result from the granting of this request for an extension of time.

In the event that the present legal representative of these Intervenors is unable to file a response due to other obligations, I would request the same extension in order to review th~e documents in this proceeding that preceded ALA3-657 and to' prepare a response on behalf of these intervening partias, both of which have been longstanding members of 3

the Environmental Coalition on '!uclear Power.
