Dear Sir,
In my opinion, your November 17, 1981 exercise, at Calvert Cliffs, was f ar fran realistic.
Had it been a real mergency, I a convinced that several of the fire / rescue mits fran Calvert County and the surrounding areas would have been involved.
I a sure that your reasons for the limited particip ticn of "non - BG & E" personnel were valid. However, you do not want to give the imgession that Calvert Cliffs operates in a void. The exercise on November 17th created, (for me), just that imgession.
As a resident of.the St. Leonard area and a menber of the 2nd District Volunteer Rescue Squad, I m very concerned with the lack of training relating to any iroblems at the BG & E plant in Lusby.
I had expectations that this drill would paint out sane weaknesses.
The fact that you decided to rot involve the majority of the volun-teers in the county negated any evaluation of the level of canpetance for dealing with a situation of this type.
I feel that training in this area is necessary, for any personnel potentially involved, if for no other reason than to remove the " fear of the unknown".
It was rot lack of interest on our prt.
