Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No. 1 Docket 50-334 License No. DPR-66 ENS and HPN Phone Systems NRC Order No. 82-M-146 October 28, 1981 Gentlemen:
This letter documents our telecon of October 21, 1981 with Mr. Stu Cohen of your office regarding the installation of additional telephones on the ENS and HPN phone system at the Beaver Valley Power Station site.
In response to an NRC Emergency Preparedness Appraisal Review finding, we are currently upgrading the communications capability of our interim Emergency Operations Facility, and require the installacion of the following NRC tele-communications system extensions:
1.
An additional HPN telephone to be located in the dose projection and assessment area (which is shared with the TSC and EOF). This area is located in the basement of the Administration Building. There is currently an HPN phone located in the Resident Inspectors office within this building.
2.
An additional ENS receiver to be located in the interim Emergency Operations Facility, specifically the Emergency / Recovery Manager's office, also located in the basement of the Administration Building.
We have committed to have the upgraded EOF operational by December 31, 1981, and would appreciate your cooperation in providing these requested ex-tension's by this date if possible.
