SHH0WELL LETTER TO ROGER BOYD DATED OCTOBER 5, 1978 ENCLOSURE: MIDLAND PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2, VOLUME 1: PRESERVICE INSPECTION PLAN Enclosed with this letter are ten copies (Copy Numbers 19 - 28) of Volume 1, "Preservice Inspection Plan," of the "Preservice and First 10-Year Interval Inspection Plan for Nondestructive Examination and System Pressure Tests at Consumers Power Company Midland Plant Units 1 and 2."

This plan supersedes the plan transmitted by the above reference and is submitted in response to NRC Requests for Additional Information 121.14 and 121.23 relative to the Midland Operating License review.

Consumers Power Company reserves the right to revise this plan if changer kn.
