ELECTROMAGNETLC PULSE (EMP)
On October 7, 1981 you requested the Commission look into the subject of EMP.
By copy of this memo I am requesting Secy provide a copy of Secy 81-641 to you, the Chairman of the Licensing Board Panel, and the Chairman of the Appeal Panel.
This Secy paper describes the NRC staff program to investigate the possible effect of EMP on commercial nuclear power plants.
The program is well under way and expects to be completed by the summer of 1982.
