Dear Congressman Synar:
.Thank you for your letter dated October 26,1981 e ing correspondence from your constituents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoogewind, concerning the proposed rule to eliminate utility financial qualifications as a prerequisite for nuclear power plant licensing.
The proposed rule change referred to by Mr. and Mrs. Hoogewind was published for coment in the Federal Reoister on August 19, 1981.
The comment period expired on October 19, 1981.
Coments received after that date will be considered if it is practical to do so. The comments of Mr. and Mrs.
Hoogewind will be considered along with others received.
The staff will then make recommendations to the Comission for a final rule.
