Dear Administrative Judges:

For the various reasons and scheduling considerations stated during the October hearing session, Licensee is not yet certain whether full-scale sleeving of Point Beach Unit 2 will take place during the spring 1982 outage now scheduled to begin April 16, 1982.

However, the successful completion of the recent sleeving demonstration program at Point Beach Unit 1 has increased the possibility that Licensee will want to proceed with a full-scale sleeving program at Unit 2 at that time.

Licensee believes that a reasonable schedule for the completion of the hearing, with some expedition in the filing of proposed findings as suggested by the Board at Tr. 48, would enable the timely issuance of an initial decision and operating license amendment for operation with degraded tubes sleeved rather than plugged after a full-scale sleeving program.
