..e Appendix 2 Heat Shrink Sleaving Installation and Splicing Procedure 1.

Clean all penetration pigtails from a particular penetration module along their entire length using 1.1.1 trichloroethane or equivalent cable cleaning / degreasing solvent.

2.

Sile rejacketing tubing over penetration pigtail until pigtail abuts the penetration module. See the attached figure. Rejacketing tubing is UCSF-115-XN length to be cut as required.

3.

Starting at the penetration end, heat the rejacketing tubing to shrink in place. Proceed with shriaking operation until the entire pigtail has been rejacketed.

4.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each penetration subassembly lead.

5.

Apply Dow Corning Prime Coat 1204 to the subassembly seal and the first 3" of rejacketed lead wires.

6.

Using Dow Corning 3145 Clear RTV pot and seal the subassembly seal and first 3 inches of lead wire as shown in the attached figure.

7.

Using the WCSF-650-9N, slide it over the subassembly seal and shrink it on the seal and potted area. The RTV must be allowed to cure 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> prior to performing this step. See attached figure.

1.

Clean the splice area (- six inches each end) with 1.1.1 trichloroethane.

2.

Install 3" of WCSF-115-XN on the cable lead wires as a shim - see the attached figure.

3.

Slide a WCSF-200-6N splice over each lead wire.

4.

Splice the menetration and cable using the butt splices as specified in GSEE-051t.

5.

Center the splice insulating tubing over the splice and shrink in place, starting at the center of the tubing and working first toward one end, then toward the other.
