Dear Mr. Carter:
As Indian Point constantly closes and opens and closes the two units still functional, those of us who live and work in the area find the NRC work baffling.
I work and travel and live within a 10 mile radius of Indian Point and wonder who in their right mind can develop a sure plan for safety or emergency planning in case of malfunction at the site.
As you move into "in-depth" hearings, I would hope that ample time will be given to residents of this area who are not experts in nuclear affairs, but surely know the impossible nature of any safety plan so far discussed.
If your hearings are to be in-depth, they must be held in West-chester and hear the pubitc debate of Westchester, Dutchess, and Rockland County residents.
