TRIP REPORT:
NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, UNITS NO.1 AND 2 (flA-l&2)
On October 8, 1981, a site visit was made by the NRR operating project manager to NA-l&2. Concurrent with the above noted visit, the Division of Resident and Reactor Project Inspection (RRPI) conducted a plant inspection of NA-l&2. A list of attendees is provided in the Attachment i
to this cemorandum.
The purpose of the NRR site visit was to update the licensee's corporate and station representatives on the status of the NRR Technical Assignment Control System (TACS) for NA-l&2. The status of items (multi-plant, TMI action items and plant specific issues) for Fiscal Years 1981 and 1982 were discussed with the licensee. !4r.#R. Lewis, Director, RRPI, Region II, IE was present during the TACS presentation.
A plant inspection was then conducted by the NRC staff as designated in the attachment to this memorandum. Areas inspected included (1) the new machine shop building under construction, (2) the auxiliary feedwater pumps (motorized and steam turbine) for HA-1, (3) preliminary construction work on Unit 3. (4) turbine building, (5) modifications underway on the Fo: dox Demineralizers (6) the NA-2 main phase transformers presently in place, and (7) the NA-1&2 main control room.
Following the plant inspection, the NRR project manager and Mr. H. Shymlock, the new Resident Inspector for NA-l&2 discussed plant open items and the best methods for maintaining coanunications between the resident inspector and the project manager.
