This report is being made in accordance with Paragraph 3.5.3.a(3) of the Trojan Environmental Technical Specifications (ETS),
concerning an unplanned gaseous release in excess of 5 curies of noble gas.
Due to seal leakage f rom the East Wast.e Gas Compressor Motsture Separator, a gaseous release of 11.5 curies of noble gas occurred between 1500 hours0.0174 days <br />0.417 hours <br />0.00248 weeks <br />5.7075e-4 months <br /> on September 29,1981 and 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br /> on September 30, 1981. The seal was repaired and the release was halted. This event is considered an isolated occurrence. Since the offsite doses resulting from this release were well below plant design objectives and federal guidelines, the affect on public health and safety is minimal. This event was also reported in accordance with 10CFR50.72 on September 30, 1981.
