i NRC STAFF'S MOTION FOR FURTHER EXTENSION OF TIf1E TO RESPOND TO PORTER COUNTY CHAPTER INTERVEf;0RS' 110 TION CONCERNING EXCAVATION On October 21, 1981, with the concurrence of Porter County Chapter Intervenors ("PCCI") and NIPSCO, the NRC Staff requested a two-week extension of time to respond to PCCI's October 1,1981 "' lotion Concerning Excavation." The extension requested was granted by Licensing Board Order of October 26, 1981.
The purpose of the extension was to allow the parties an opportunity to reach agrecaent on a restoration plan.
- PCCI, NIPSCO, and the Staff have reached an agreement in principle on an acceptable plan. What remains is for the parties to circulate and approve the precise changes in language to the flIPSCO plan submitted on 6 o87 3

Accordingly, the Staff resnectfully moves that the time within which it is to respond to PCCI's motion be extended to, and including, November 18, 1981.
