Dear Administrative Judges:
This letter upd6 tes Staff's October 31, 1980 response to the Licensing Board's Oru r of October 14, 1980 regarding the status of this proceeding.
In its 1980 response the Staff forecasted a l'ay 1981 issuance of its Safety Evaluation Report and Environnental Inpact Appraisal. Duc, however, to Applicant's continued expression of prioricy interest in its !!igh Density Fuel Storage Rack Amendment Requests filed in 1978 for Zion, Dresden and Quad Cities, as outlined in Applicant's October 31, 1980 response to this Board's Order, Staff has deferred its review of the instant Spent Fuel Transshipment request pending conpletion of its review for the Spent Fuel Pool proceedings. Staff Safety Evaluation Reports and Environmental Inpact Appraisals for the Zion and Dresden Spent Fuel Pool amendments have already been issued. Staff at this time expects to issue the Quad Cities Spent Fuel k Pool Safety Evaluation Report and Environmental Inpact Appraisal in March of J 1982.
If the Applicant continues to pursue its transshipment amendment
\\
application, review of the instant application would resuno after !! arch of h-b 1982.
