Not Applicable At 11:56 pm, PDT, on October 22, 1981, two unidentified males were observed outside of a perimeter access gate by a security officer.
The individuals were alerted of the officers presence as he radioed in his report. The individuals left the immediate area to a nearby hill;ide. While on the hillside, the two security officers maintaining surveillance of these individuals reported hearing a sharp report of unconfirmed nature.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Department (LLEA) was contacted by the licensee and responded to the site. A search of the area near the access gate and on the hillside where the individuals were observed was conducted by the LLEA. According to the licensee, the area of the access gate showed signs of digging near the fence and two strands of barbed wire topping were broken.
In response to this incident, the licensee called in additional security personnel to support the backshift. th individuals hu re been apprehended.

This reactor site has been shut down since July 1976.
No new release is planned by the licensee or Region V.
The state of California has been notified. The IAT has been contacted.
