Gentlemen:
This refers to your letter of September 18, 1981, in response to the Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties sent to you wi_th our letter of August 21, 1981.
Our letter concerned violations found during the investigation conducted on June 29, 1981, of activities authorized by NRC License No. 42-17552-01.
After careful consideration of your responses, we have concluded for the reasons given in the enclosed Order that the violations, for which civil penalties had been proposed, occurred as set out in the Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties.
Based on our analysis of your respo..se to Violations 1A and 1B, the penalty has been mitigated from Six Thousand Dollars to Four Thousand Dollars.
Accordingly, we hereby serve the enclosed Order on Mustang Services Company, imposing civil penalties in the cumulative amount of Four Thousand Dollars.
We have no further questions regarding your response since you have stopped operations using NRC licensed materials and plan to terminate your license.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
