September 9, 1981 Mr. Darrel Wiedeman U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of Inspection and Enforcement 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 Re: License No. 12-00780-05

Dear Mr. Wiedeman:

Daily G-M surveys of the generator elution area in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois, were begun on August 8, 1981, and will continue to be performed to avoid further noncompliance with the statements in the license application dated March 30, 1978.

The measured radioactivity in front of the lead shield in the generator elution area has been 1.5 mR/hr or less each dav since 8-11-81, when full compliance was achieved.

I affirm the above statements are true.

Sincerely yours

6. plug.9 ATH/HP Allen T. Harpy, M. D.
