The Board had been planning to hold oral argument during the October 19-23, 1981 hearing ses-ions concerning the new contentions sponsored by CEU and CCANP.

Those sessions have now been cancelled.

We also recognize that the viability of the new contentions may depend ir. part on the futur.e status of Brown & R00t l

vis-a-vis the South Texas project. To that end, we direct CEO and CCANP to advise us as soon as possible, but no later than November 23, 1981 i

In lieu of the oral argument which we had planned to conduct during the week of October 19-23, 1981, the Board will permit CEO and CCANP to file written responses to the positions taken by the Applicants and Staff in opposition to the new contentions.

If CCANP (a co-sponsor) wishe', to sub: nit a written response to the Applicants' and Staff's positions, it may do so by October 26, 1981.

For the foregoing reasons, it is, this 9th day of October,1981 ORDERED 1.

That CCANP may file a response to the Applicants' and Staff's responses to the new contentions by October 26, 1981.
