MEMORANDUM M e,c.,,,OISOi ~

3 October 19, 1981 kb/,.

Counsel for the parties.are to be prepared to' discuss at oral argument the apparent discrepancy between the Final Environmental Statement and the affidavit of Alan J. Gould as to the amount of. low level radioactive waste to be generated by the Turkey Point steam generator repairs.

The FES, p.4-ll, gives an FPL estimate of 1100 cubic meters (38,846 cubic feet) per unit not including the steam generator assemblies, while the Gould affidavit, Table 1, specifies 22,335 cubic feet l

l excluding the steam generator lower assemblies.

Counsel I

l should also be prepared to discuss the underlying assumptions for Tables 2 and 3 of the Gould affidavit.
