MEMORAND'JM AND ORDER CONCERNiF3 V! SIT TO GENERAL ELECTRIC CONTROL ROOM SIMULATOR It is traditional in power reactor licensing proceedings for the Board to arrange a site visit, accompanied by parties. Pursuant to that general custom, we have decided that it would be more effective to educate ourselves about the Perry reactor by visiting the GE control room simulator at Tulsa, Oklahoma during March 1982. The simulator is used for training Perry operators.

We anticipate collecting advance information so that we will be knowledgeable at the time of the visit. Most of our time at the site will te spent observing trainees or trained operators responding to simulated events, some of which will be routine and others of which will be emergencies.

General Electric has offered to make its facilities available for this purpose and to be host to the parties who wish to attend along with the Board.

Parties should file their intentions concerning participation on or before November 18, 1981, either in a separate filing or as part of another filing. These filings may also suggest matters for inclusion in the planned visit or specific aspects of Perry which might be explored at.a subsequent visit to the site of the Perry reactor. Parties may call Mr. Robert Ketchel of General Electric (202-637-4567), whose cooperation is appreciated by the Board, for more information about what may be learned during the visit to the simulator.

IT IS S0 CRDERED.
