AT'rENTION:
Mr. Robert A. Clark, Chief Operating Reactors Branch #3
SUBJECT:
Information Request hegarding Station Blackout Unresolved Safety Issue A-44 Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Units No. 1 & 2, Docket Nos. 50-317 6 50-318
REFERENCE:
a) Letter to A. E. Lundvall, Jr., from R. A. Clark dated July 9, 1981, same subject Gentlemen:
The attached tables from reference a) have been completed and are provided for your use in determining the reliability of the onsite standby diesel generators. Your analysis should take into account that Calvert Cliffs Unit 1 and 2 are serviced by a total of three diesels. One diesel is dedicated to each unit and number 12 diesel is a swing diesel serving both units.
Our review of Enclosure 2 from reference a) concluded that Licensee Event Reports for Calvert Cliffs Unit 2, Docket #50-318, were omitted. A list of the Unit 2 Licensee Event Reports is attached and cross referenced to the LER Abstract Numbers that were used in Tabit 3.
If you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours, Vice President - Supply AEL/DWL/gla I
