- DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 INSERVICE INSPECTION OF SAFETY CLASS COMPONENTS UPDATING OF.10-YEAR PLANS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 Wisconsin Electric Power Company is currently updating its inservice inspection program for Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, as required by 10 CFR 50.55a(g) (4) (ii).
Unit 1 completed its first 10 years of commercial operation on December 20, 1980 and Unit 2 will complete its first 10 years of commerc3al operation on September 30, 1982.
Presently, Point Beach is in the process of completing the inservice inspection requirements for the first 10-year intervals for Units 1 and 2.
The Unit 1 first 10-year interval has been extended until December 20, 1981 to permit inspections to be concurrent with plant outages as allowed in Article IWA 2400 of ASME Code Section XI.
The 10-year inservice inspection requirements for Unit 2 are expected to be completed prior to September 30, 1982.

will be updated to the 1977 Edition (Summer 1979 Addenda) of l
ASME Code Section XI.
The extent of examination for Codt Class 1 and 2 pipe welds will be determined in accordance with the 1974 Edition (Summer 1975 Addenda) of ASME Code Section XI as permitted by 10 CFR 50.55a(b) (2) (ii) and (b) (2) (iv).

After the inservice inspection plans for Units 1 and 2 second 10-year intervals have been developed, all requests for necessary relief will be sent to the NRC as required in 10 CFR
- 50. 55a (g) ( 5) (lii) and (iv).
The inservice inspection plans for Units 1 and 2 should be complete by June and September 1982, respectively.
