'Ihis is oar third interim report regardind certain deficiencies in Limitorque valve motor operatora supplied for use at Limerick Generating Station.

Previous information was forwarded to you via the referencec.

I Ihe inspection of a cample of t6 Limitorque motor operators has been completed and the incpection data cheets have been reviewed by the engi-neering organizations of both PECO and Dechtel. A cignificant number of operators have at leact one of the following deficiencies: limit swltch rotors with cracks or micdrilled pin holes, use of nonqualified terminal blocka, use of nonqualified heaters, improperly cet torquo switch limiter plates, use of fiber, rather than metallic, washern ur. der the torque switch'n contact cerews, and damaged guckets.

Mr. Ronald C. Haynes Together with Bechtel Power Corporation, we are continuing to fomulate a program to inspect all safety related operators and correct the deficiencies found.

This is taking somewhat longer than we had originally expected due to the numerous different problems that have been found in the Limitorque operators and our desire to adequately inspect for and correct then all at the same time.

We will submit a further report on this subject by December 31, 1981.
