LaSalle County Station Unit 1 tyfg Integrated Leak Rate Test NRC Docket No. 50-373
Dear Mr. Schwencer:
The purpose of this letter is to request the concurrence of the NRC Staff to perfurm an integrated leak rate test on LaSalle County Unit 1 as a surveillance prior to the point during Unit 1 startup when primary containment is required.
The LaSalle County Unit 1 Integrated Leak Rate Test (FSAR Table 14.2-13, PT-CS-101) was performed satisfactorily approximately one (1) year ago.
Based on agreements reac%d with Mr. R. McDerrmot (NRR-PTRB) prior to the test, reoerformance of the test within 6 months of fuel loading was generally agreed upon to assure that no change in leak rate was caused Ly construction related activities.
At this point in time, having successfully completed the test greater than the 6 months prior to fuel load, we must request your concurrence in our plan for retesting as described above.
This proposal has been reviewed with the Region III Office of Inspection and Enforcement and is satisfactory to them.
The Region III concurrence was conditioned on the commitment by the applicant to reperform the test as a preoperational test-rather than a surveillance after fuel load if the final verified peak accident oressure (Pa) is cutside t.ie range of that allowed by the test already completed.
