Thank you for your letter of August 31, 1981, in response to our letter and the ottached Notice of Violation dated July 31, 1981. With regard to your response to Item No. 2, we remain unconvinced that your evaluation of xenon effluents to unrestricted areas was adequate in view of the facts that: (1) the exhaust rate of 200 cfm used to calculate concentrations in unrestricted areas was an invalid figure, and (2) there was no measured or specified exhaust rate stated for the window air conditioning unit. However, since xenon studies are now being performed in a new facility with the evaluation for these con-ditions having been performed and documented, we have no furtjw:r questions at this time. We will review this issue as well as your corrective actions to the renaining items during a future inspection.
