Farley Nuclear Plant - Unit 1 Change to Facility Operating License NPF-2 Technical Specifications In reference (1) the NRC requested that Ai;bama Power Company submit { propcsed changes to the Farley Unit 1 Technical Specifications to satisfy the Category "A" item requirements resulting from TMI-2 Lessons Learned. Alabama Power Company's letter of August 7, 1980 to Mr. D. G. Eist..P.ut stated that Alabama Power Company would respond to these specification requirements for Unit 1 following receipt of the Unit 2 operating license as part of the Unit 1 Technical Specification Upgrade. In Reference (2) Alabama Power Company provided the Technical Specifications necessary to satisfy the January 1,1981 requirements of NURF.G-0737. Although the Unit 1 Technical Specification Upgrade was originally scheduled for June 1981, negotiation of some items in the upgrade package has delayed its issuance to early November 1981. Alabama Power Company hereby requests an amendment to Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Technical Specifications to incorporate the TMI-2 Category "A" items into the Unit 1 Technical Specifications. Attachment 1 to this letter is a cross reference between the Category "A" Model specification provisions of Reference (1) ano sections in the existing and proposed Technical Speci-fications which show compliance with these requirements. Attachment 2 contains the proposed Category "A" Technical Specification pages originally submitted in Reference (2) which have been modified to incorporate changes submitted in Reference (3) and Reference (4). These solenoid valves are powered from the class lE 125V D.C. power system. Technical specifications are provided for the class lE D.C. power system in sections 3.8.2.3 and 3.8.2.4. The pressurizer block valves received their power from motor control centers via one of the emergency load centers.
