Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter of June 5,1981, in response to our letter dated May 6,1981. As a result of ra review, we find that additional information is needed on the following items in the Notice of Nonconfomance:

In your cover letter you have stated that when the units are returned to theffield they will adhere without qualification to the Section III Code and customer requirements. We do not agree that the actions taker, by you in regard to this item are in compliance with that statement, in that you are basically l
proposing to re-ship unitt which contain welds made from materials that have not been tested -in accorddanoewith either Section III of the ASME Code, or your sustomer requirements.
We do not concur that a total of two lateral expansion values is sufficient data to permit a technical judgment of probable adequar,y of noten ductility properties in the affected welds. You am, therefore, requested to provide us with either a corrective action statement addressing the method by which the adequacy of notch ductility properti6s in affected welds will be serified, or, fomal evidence of a waiver by your customer of the Charpy-V impact test requirements.
