Dear Ms. Field:
I am in receipt of your letter of September 14, 1981, which provides your views on the Limerick nuclear power plant and asks about the status of evacua-tion plans.
As a judicial officer, I will not comment outside of the hearing process on the substance of any matters which may come before the Licensing Board for adjudication in this proceeding.
However, the Staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission should be able to answer ycur questions about evacuation plans, and I am therefore forwarding a copy of your letter to the NRC Staff and the other parties on the service list in the Limerick proceeding.
In addition to expressing your views by letter at this stage of the pro-ceeding, as you have, you should be aware that members of the public who do not become formal legal parties to the hearing sill also be given an opportunity to :; tate their views orally before the Board. 5uch participation, known as a limited appearance statement, will be provided for in closer proximity to the time for commencement of the evidentiary hearing.
If you wish, you may request the Commission's Docketing and Service Section to place your name on its information service list for copies of notices in the Limerick proceeding.
