WM. H. ZIMMER NUCLEAR POWER STATION UNIT I PLANT MAINTENANCE AND MODIFICATION CONTRACTOR W. O. #57300-957, JOB E-5590 Gentlemen:
As we approach completion of the Zimmer Nuclear Power Station, it is our intention to support the startup testing, modification and maintenance of turned-over systems by retaining a maintenance and modification specialist.
Our evaluation process for selection of that specialist is now complete and we are in the process of negotiating a contract with Catalytic, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pa.
Catalytic is currently supporting eight nuclear power stations as a continuous maintenance and modification contractor.
On several of those stations, Catalytic is successfully applying their QA Program and Procedures, which are specifically oriented to a Work Package approach.
It is our intent to review and apr~ - Catalytic's QA Program, Project QA Plan and Construction Maintenance Procecures. Approved procedures for preparation, review and approval of work packages will be utilized. Catalytic will review to assure work packages contain required inspection hold points and comply with applicable specifications, drawings and design documents.
CG&E will also approve Catalytic Work Packages prior to work commencing. CG6E QA and Catalytic will perform scheduled audits of Catalytic activities and scheduled surveillance of Catalytic Inspections and quality engineering reviews to verify compliance with project quality and technical requirements.
