Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Your letter of December 22, 1980, concerning Control of Heavy Loads requested that our final report. be submitted by September 22, 1981.
Due to the large amount of material required, the extensive nature of the review, the necessary involvement of an Architect Engineer and Nuclear Steare System Supplier (NSSS), plus the potential effects on operations which must be addressed, we will be unable to provide our response by the requested date.
To date, upwards of 4500 manhours has been expended in the associated analysis and report preparation.
It is er.ticipated that this figure may exceed 6000 manhours before the report is complete.
These figures do not include involvement in corrective actions for identified potential problems.
As a consequence, we anticipate forwarding the bulk of our final report by December 23, 1981.
The limited areas requiring input from the NSSS may be delayed until February 3, 1982.
As stated in our letter of June 18, 1981, we shall continue to initiate corrective measures as soon as practical after the identifications of potential problems.
