Shipping Cask Battelle's Columbus Laborator4s requests a renewal of the subject Certificate
(
of Compliance for an additional five (5) years. The cask configuration, con-tainment, and contents remain the same as for the current certificate which expires on September 30, 1981.
The Safety Analysis Report for Transportatic i (SARP) for the BCL-4 cask has been reorr:anized into the stanuard SARP format recommended by the NRC a.d outlined in Regulatory Guide No. 7.9.
Two new sections have been added.
They include 3ct.Jn 7 (0perating Procedures) and Section 8 (Acceptance Tests and Maintenance Programs)
Other additions, primarily descriptive in nature, have been made to the other sections. All the analyses, are unchanged except for minor corrections such as typographical errors. All pages which contain new material or corrections are identified by the legend "Rev. A.
8/7/81" at the center of the bottom page margin.
If only part of the page l
contains new material, that portion of the page is identified by a solid vertical bar in the outside margin. When the only change consists of a new heading or subhead'ag, the legend and the vertical bar have been omitted.
Enclosed are eight (8) copies of the revised SARP for the BCL-4 cask. Also enclosed is a check for $2800, tha fee for review for a minor aniendment as defined in Paragraph 170.31(ll)(B) of 10 CFR 170.
