This is:in_ regard to your' letter dated July 1 1981 in which you reque, ted, pursi; ant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), " documents which bear on the managerial and technical assessment of performance of the NRC's
' document control sys tem.... "
NRC has voluminous records pertaining to various aspects of the document
. control system dating from 1975. Certain records which may be of interest to you have already been made available 'for public inspection and copying at the NRC Public Document Rcom (PDR) in response to previous FOIA requests. These records are identified'in the enclosed copies of correspondence (see appendix) regarding these requests._ You may order any of those records directly from the PDR.
(The charge. for reproducing records has bren reduced from ten cents to five cents-per page.) Upon your agreement to pay the copying charges, the PDR will arrange for the records to be ct,pfed by a private contractor servicing the PDR.
You will ba billed by the private contractor for the copying charges, plus tax and postage.
We made several unsuccessful attempts to call you during both day:and evening hours at your listed home telephone number to discuss the scope of your request.
