Dear Mr. Denton:

Ir; May 1974, Construction Permit No. CPPR-104 was issued to Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) for Bailly Generating Station, Nuclear-1 (Bailly).

The Construction Permit contained a latest date of comple-tion of construction of September 1, 1979.

On February 7, 1979, NIPSCO submitted an application for an extension of the completion date specified in the Construction Permit for Bailly.

This application was subsequently supplemented by letters dated August 31, 1979, and November 26, 1980.

A proceeding is currently ongoing before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board regarding the application for an extension.

On August 26, 1981, the Board of Directors of NIPSCO decided not to construct Bailly.
