In response to the recent board Order requesting quarterly reports on the SEP seismic review for LACGWR,y I wish to bring your attention to the June 17,1961 " Letter to All StP Uwners (Except San Onofre)" which contains the Staff's acceleration value for LACBWR (.11 ).
The subject of the 9
referenced letter is entitled " Site Specific Ground Response Spectra for SEP Plants Located in the Eastern United States." This letter and attacned documents were sent to the Board and parties on or about June 23, 1981.
One of the docuaents attached is a llay 20, 1981 Memorandum to William Russell froa Robert Jackson wherein the Staff sets out the basis for the seismic evaluation of SEP plants and the conservatisms of the recommended spectra.
Inis section explains the difference in tne criteria used for SEP and new plants, such as the Tyrone Energy Park evaluation.
I au pointing out the contents of this recent Staff document since it appears to answer both questions referenced by the Board in its recent order and so that it is clear that tne Staff's seisnic acceleratio'. value has been fixed.
