Subject:

Seismic Reassessment of NSSS Piping

Dear Mr. Kintner:

In selecting the response spectra for the seismic analysis of the NSSS piping, Edison used the response spectra corresponding to the center of gravity of the piping system.

It is our understanding that this methodology for the selection of response spectra is not acceptable to the hTC staff.

In response to this open item, Edison commits to perform the "as-built" analysis of the NSSL piping using the envelope method or the multiple support excitation method of seismic response spectrum analysis. The SSE response will be obtained by multiplying the OBE response by 1.875 or by using the site-specific SSE response spectra.

l If you require further input in this matter, please advise, l
