ARTICLE I - BACKGROUND The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission is committed to continuing the sponsorship of the Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meetings which are an important function in furthering the NRC's roles and objec.tives in fostering the safety of nuclear power plant operation.

The Information Meetings provide an international forum for determining the overall status and progress in nuclear safety research in the US and in other parts of the world.

This is accomplished by the participation in the meeting and special workshops of technical representatives of more than twenty foreign countries.

ARTICLE II - SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall coordinate and administer the planning and arrangements for conducting the 9th Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting to be held at the National Bureau of Standards, Gaithersburg, Maryland, on October 26-30, 1981.

The Contractor shall make arrangements for meeting facilities, motel reservations, bus transportation, luncheons, the preparation anf distribution of meeting notices and the agenda, and the publication and distribution of papers presented at the meeting.

Government facilites and funds are to be employed for these activities with the exception of the costs of the luncheons, coffee, and beverages served at the meeting.

These items are paid for through a registration fee that is char;;ed to meeting attendees.

The Contractor shall supervise the activities for conducting the meeting at the time of the meeting, including the collection of the registration fees, the coordination of payment of debts of the meeting, and the administrative wrap-up of the meeting.

The Contractor shall prepare a report delineating the procedures followed in coordinating the meeting.

The report shall include all the necessary steps taken to accomplish the scope of work, including a list of invitees, points of contact, attendees, etc.

The report shall contain a summary of the conference events and a recommendation section to detail any changes deemed necessary for the future. The report shall be submitted to the Project Officer within thirty (30) days after the conference.

ARTICLE III - PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE The period of performance with respect to this contract shal.1 commence on the date of award and all work shall have been completed by November 30, 1981.

ARTICLE IV - CONSIDERATION The Contractor shall be paid the firm-fixed-fee of $8,000.00 in full consideration of performance hereunder.

ARTICLE V - OBLIGATIONS The amount presently obligated by the US NRC with respect to this contract is

$8,000 00.

' ARTICLE VI - PAYMENT Payment shall be made in_accordance with Clause 2 of the General Provisions entitled " Payments" as soon as practicable after completion and acceptance of all work, upon submission by the Contractor of voucher (s) in a fom satisfactor to the Contracting Officer, provided, however, that said payment (s) shall not be deemed to prejudice any rights which the Government may have by law or under other provisions of this contract.

_ ARTICLE VII - PROJECT OFFICER D. Ross is hereby oesignated as the Contracting Officer's authorized representativ (hereinafter called Project Officer) for technical aspects of this contract.

Project Officer is not authorized to approve or request any action which results The claim or dispute arising under the contract; or issue any whatever.

The Project Officer is responsible for:

(1) monitoring the Contractor's technical progress, including surveillance and assessment of performance, and recommending to the Contracting Officer any changes in requirements; (2) faterpreting the scope of work; (3) performing technical evaluation, as required; (4) performing technical inspections and acceptances required by this contract; and (5) assisting the Contractor in the resolution of technical problems encountered during performance.

Within the purview of this authority, the Project Officer is authorized to review all costs requested for reimbursement by contractors and submit recormendations f approval, disapproval, or suspension for supplies / services required under this contract.

ARTICLE VIII - DISSEMINATION OF CONTRACT INFORMATION The Contractor shall not publish, permit to be published, or distribute for public consumption any information, oral or written, concerning the results or conclusions made pursuant to the performance of this contract without the -

ARTICLE IX - GENERAL PROVISIONS This contract is subject to the Fixed Price Research and Development Contracts Under $10,000 General Provisions dat 1 November 14, 1977, which incorporates the FPR Chcnges and Additions and the NRC Additions, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Clause 14 entitled " Patent Rights - Acquisition by the Government" is deleted in its entirety.
