Dear Mr. Denton:
In response to the letter of Mr. Robert L. Tsdesco dated July 20, 1981, this is a confirmation of the proposed installation program of the prompt notification system required by 10CFR50, Appendix E, Section IV.D.3.
Attached is a description of the system, "A Report Covering the Prompt Notification System Design for the Wm. H.
Zimmer Nuclear Power Station", and a schedule for installation.
It should be noted that the proposed alternate warning system on page six of the system description has been determined by Cincinnati Bell tc be feasible.
- Also, the system activation as discussed on page eight will be done independently in each of the four risk counties as requested by the county officials in our discussions with them.

Wm.

Zimmer Nuclear Power Station-Unit 1 - Prompt Notification in the Event of an Emergency Potential causes for delay in the implementation of the system include possible difficulties in land acquisition for the specific siren sites, additional extensions in the component delivery dates by the manufacturers, or complications iri FCC licensing procedures.
To date, all of the sirens have been ordered from the manufacturer, and we have received partial delivery.
Land rights have been acquired for approximately half of the selected siren sites.
Very truly yours, THE CTNCINNATI GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY By E. A.
