&s South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN S0-498, STN 50-499 Prompt Notification Systen Houston Lignting & Power Company acknowledges receipt of Mr. R. L.
Tedesco's letter of July 27, 1981 regarding the emergency prompt notification system for the South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2.
This is to advise that Houston Lighting & Power Company, as project manager, will ensure that a pronpt notification systen complying with applicable regulations is operational prior to commercial operation of the South Texas Project, Un;ts 1 and 2.
The design of a prompt notification systen and a schedule for installation is under evaluation at this time.
Houston Lighting & Power Company will provide the NRC with an up-to-date status of the systen and implementation schedule by July, 1982, at which time we anticipate having a definite schedule for design and installation of the system.
