South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Status of NUREG-0737, Item II.D.1 By letter dated July 1,1981, Mr. R. C. Youngdahl, Consumers Power Company, transnitted the Interim Data Report for the EPRI PWR Safety and Relief Valve Test Progrcm.

This report summarizes the test data collected to date on relief and safety valves.

The South Texas Project has pressurizer power operated relief valves; manufacturer, Copes-Vulcan; model, globe 3-100-160; description, 3 inch NPS, 316 w/ Stellite plug and 17-4 PH cage.

The South Project also has pressurizer safety valves; manufacturer, Crosby Valve & Gage; model, HB-BP-86; description, size 6N8, number N60491.

These relief and safety valves are included in the EPRI progran.

Due to the present stage of design and construction of the South Texas Project, EPRI program final results pertaining to the safety and relief valves being used at the South Texas Project will be submitted prior to fuel load in accordance with NUREG-0737 requirements.

However, as appropriate, Houston Lignting & Power Company may submit EPRI program interim data on the South Texas Project safety and relief valves on a schedule commensurate with the current EPRI schedule for operating plants.
