Response to IE Inspection 50-309/81-04

Dear Sir:

Reference (c), in its response to paragraph 6a of Reference (b), conveyed Maine Yankee's expectation that new fire dampers to replace dampers FAD-1, FAD-2, FAD-3, and FAD-4 would be installed by July 31, 1981.

This is to inform you that those installations can not be completed by that date since the vendor of these devices still has not filled our order of November 21, 1980.

l These dampers will be installed within thirty days of their receipt at Maine

Yankee, We trust this information is satisfactory. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

I Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY
