Your letter of July 1, 1981, concerning i
Notifications and Instructions to the Public in the Event of an Emergency" requested a description and schedule for our early 1
warning system around Peach BGttom Atomic Power Station Units 2 and 3.

L.
- Daltroff,
}
Philadelphia Electric Company, to H.
R.
Denton, NRC, specified j
the status of our siren system and outlined a schedule for i
procurement and installation of the sirens.
We still anticipate i
that delivery of sirens will begin in the Fall of this year and that installation and testing will be completed by July, 1982.
1 Until the siren system is installed, notification of the public will be carried out under the direction of the County
}
Emergency Management Agencies which will use existing sirens and i
mobile equipment.
Fire and police vehicles with loudspeakers, j
including vehicles available from outside the ten mile radius, will broadcast appropriate actions to the public.
The Emergency Broadcast System will be activated and announcements will be made j
on television and radio stations.
