NRC Order to Modify License SNM-1067 from R. E. Cunning to H. V. Lichtenberger, datea February 11, 1981 (Radio-logical Contingency Planning Information) 1

Dear Mr. Page:

It is requested that Combustion Engineering, Inc. be granted a 60-day exten-sion to comply with the requirements of the above referenced NRC Order for the following reasons:

1) We submitted our license renewal application on December 18, 1980 and are presently resolving a wide scope of NRC comments.
2) We have just recently submitted a 5-year up-date of our environmental impact information. This submittal contains information concerning environmental effects of accidents.

Resolution of NRC comments con-cerning this material will also affect much of the information required for the Radiological Contingency Plan.

3) Due to delays in scheduled fuel load dates at several utilities, our present storage capacities for fuel pellets and assemblies must be in-creased. We have submitted the required criticality analysis and amend-ment applications and have had several meetings in Washington with licen-sing officials to quickly resolve any comments. This has required an unplanned increase in manhours by our licensing personnel.

Very truly yours, W$0 @jg,Y[
