~6J Gentlemen:
The attached copy of the Big Rock Point Licensed Operator Requalification Program contains several requested changes to that program. The changes are indicated by a vertical line beside the portion changed with a reference number. An explana-tion or basis for the requested changes, by number, is related below. We feel these changes will make the program more manageable and no less effective than
(
the previously approved program. Some editorial changes have been included; however, since these do not affect the conduct or quality of the program, they are not discussed.
1.
A period of up to ten days after annual exam grade deternination before actual conducting of the eccelerated training activities permits organization of a specific, tailor-made program to meet the needs of the individual (s). This permits relief scheduling to be administered ar.d also cancelling or rearranging other training activities to accomodate the accelerated treining.
2.
It is impractical to conduct classroom sessions weekly at the plent during periods of high personnel demand, refueling outues er the periods of high vacation relief requirements. Therefore, we hr,ve changed the committnent to e minimum of six sessions per calendar year.
3 Licensed engineers, supervisors and superintendents that regularly review and/)
or approve materini (facility changes, license changes, procedure changes, etc as part of their regular duties, or as a member of the Plant Review Committee have been ettending lectures on the same material conducted by the Training Coordinator. We do not plan to require these people to attend the lectures or to take quizzes on this material.
14 Credit for control nenipuletions on an approved BWF simulator will reduce the need to perform meneauvers on the plant which are not necessary for normal plant operation, while still affording the individual with practieni experience in plant operation.

As. stated above, we feel these changes will make the program more manageable and we do not believe we vill have lost any quality. We vould be pleased to discuss any of these changes at your convenience, if you wish to do so.
Yours truly, r
