SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 15, 2019, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS KAIROS POWER LLCs SCALING METHODOLOGY TOPICAL REPORT On November 15, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a Category 1 public meeting with Kairos Power LLC (Kairos) to discuss NRC staff comments on the Kairos Scaling Methodology for the Kairos Power Testing Program Topical Report (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML19066A047). The meeting was held via teleconference.
The NRC staff comments were transmitted via email on October 15, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19290E570) and were meant to serve the following purposes:
- Obtaining clarification regarding material in the topical report
- Promptly identifying areas for additional information
- Facilitating discussions and continuation of effective communication The public meeting consisted of a systematic review of the NRC staff questions. Kairos staff stated their interpretation of each question and this was confirmed or corrected by the cognizant NRC staff. After discussing all the questions, it was agreed that the NRC staff will publish an audit plan to follow-up on the discussions and identify the documents to be provided on the Kairos electronic reading room. In addition, Kairos proposed to update the topical report and submit a revision by January 2020. There were no questions or comments from the public.
