Additional information on completion of actions contained in Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL)
RIII-94-005 for Braidwood Unit 2 Reference 1 required that Braidwood Station inform the NRC, )
in writing, when the actions contained in the CAL were complete.
Reference 2 contained Commonwealth Edison's response to Reference 1 and stated that all thermocouple funnels on Braidwood Unit 2 had been inspected, and their pins were found to be installed correctly. 1 A more detailed review of the inspection data and additional visual inspections showed that another thermocouple funnel was also missing l a pin. The missing pin was located on top of the upper internals j and retrieved. j i
Commonwealth Edison will be conducting corrective / preventive i repairs on the Unit 2 thermocouple funnels. l This information was communicated to Mr. Edward G. Greenman of your staff by Mr. Karl Kaup, Braidwood Station Site Vice President, in a telephone conversation at 0805 on May 9, 1994.
Mr. David J. Miller, Braidwood Station Technical Services Super-intendent, informed Mr. Rolf A. Westberg, Augmented Inspection Te,.m Leader, via telephone on Saturday, May 7, 1994, and updated this information at approximately 1000 on May 9, 1994.
