In accordance with your verbal request, the purpose of this letter is to docket a completion date for the Waterford 3 activities mandated by NRR Generic Letter 89-10, " Safety-Related Motor-0perated Valve Testing and Surveillance".
As you know, item 'i' of NRRGL 89-10 established a requirement that all design-basis reviews, analyses, verifications, tests and inspections required by the letter be complete "within five years or three refueling outages of the date of this letter [ June 28,1989), whichever is later "
The Louisiana Power and Light (LP&L) response to NRRGL 89-10 indicated that "as required by [the Generic Letter], LP&L will complete all design-basis reviews, analyses, verifications, tests and inspections to comply with items 'a' through 'h' by the end of Waterford 3's sixth refueling outage."
A specific date was not provided.
As reflected in NRC Inspection Reports 50-382/92-02 dated February 21, 1992, and 93-06 dated May 18, 1993, Entergy Operations intends to complete all NRRGL 89-10 required actions at Waterford 3 by June 28, 1994. This 9405110295 940509 V'
