This letter refers to an inspection conducted by Mr. S. K. Chaudhary on April 5-8,1994, at

the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3, at Delta, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Chaudhary discussed the results of the inspection with Mr. T. Niessen of your staff on

April 8,1994, at the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspection was intended to promote public health and safety, and focussed on the
i
engineering and technical support program that assures the continued integrity of the design
and the operational safety of the plant. Areas examined during this inspection are described
in the NRC Region I inspection report, which is enclosed with this letter. With these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and represt tative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by_the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, the design change and modification program, and
engineering / technical support to the plant operation were found to be satisfactory, and to
meet the regulatory requirements and your commitments.
