REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR STEAM GENERATOR REPLACEMENT REVIEW - VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT N0. 1 (TAC NO. M88172)
By letter dated October 29, 1993, you requested changes to your Technical Specifications to support the steam generator replacement project. To assist the staff in its review of your submittal, please address the following questions:
1)
Provide a list of all NSSS and NSSS/B0P piping systems that are affected by the replacement of the steam generators.
2)
For each system, please provide the following information:
The number of mechanical / hydraulic snubbers, rigid a.
supports and pipe whip restraints before SG replacement.
b.
The number of mechanical / hydraulic snubbers, rigid supports and pipe whip restraints after SG replacement.
The number of snubbers replaced by rigid supports, if c.
any.
3)
What is the Code of Record for the reevaluated NSSS/B0P piping systems?
Is this the same Code to which the systems were originally designed?
4)
Provide justification for basing the design of the SGs on the 1986 Edition of the ASME Code,Section III.
