Dear Ms. Youngberg:
In response to your verbal request of March 31, 1994, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has reviewed the Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC's) proposed amendment to the Cintichem Consent Order - Sampling Requirement for Surface and Ground Water.
This amendment, when issued, will revise the procedures and sampling frequency followed by Cintichem as part of their effluent discharge monitoring program, as well as the procedures to be followed in the event samples exceed the applicable effluent concentration limits.
Based on the staff's review of the proposed amendment, we have no objections to DEC issuing the amendment.
