In the Matter of ) Docket Nos. 50-327 Tennessee Valley Authority ) 50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR (SQN) PLANT - CERTIFICATION OF THE SQN UNITS 1 AND 2 SIMULATION FACILITY The enclosed NRC Forms 474 and supporting information provide TVA's certification for the SQN Units 1 and 2 plant-referenced simulator. The supporting infotination-consists of test schedules, test abstracts, and a C susenary of discrepancies and exceptions in response to the Form 474 questions.

The SQW simulator is owned and operated by TVA. It is located at the SQN Training Center adjacent to the plant site near Soddy-Daisy. Tennessee.

The sisailstor was manufactured by Singer-Link-Miles using the SQW design and performance characteristics. The simulator was first operational in 1977. A complete upgrade of.the software and initial certification testing were completed in March 1991. The simulator now features

-state-of-the-art reactor core and thermal-hydraulics modeling, extensive electrical system modeling, and an updated instructor's station.
