NRC INCIDENT RESPONSE WORKSHOP The Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region 11 is pleased to announce that an 1.3cident Response Workshop has been arranged for NRC power reactor licensees, Regional Federal agencies, and States. The specific target audience is utility EOF Managers, Site TSC Managers, Public Af f airs representatives, and Site Emergency Planners. The workshop will be held on April 30 and May 1, 1991, at the Omni International Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. The purpose of the workshop i

to improve communications between the NRC, licensees, and other governmental organizations regaraing the NRC's role, s well as the Federal government's role gererally, in responding to an emergency at a fixed nuclear facility.

A tentative meeting agenda is provided as Enclosure 1.

Attendees should gain valuable insight into the NRC's cmergency response role, concept of operations, interface procedures, and decision-making process.

In addition, information will also be presented regarding current and forthcoming assessment tools such as the F.mergency Response Data System, Response Technical Manual-91, the RASCAL dose projection model, and Protective Action Decision Making guidance.

The Omni Hotel is easily reached from the airport by the Marta rail system or by Airport Shuttle.

Registration for the workshop will begin at 8:00 a.m. on April 30, 1991, with the program lasting f rom 8:30 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m.

on April 30 and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on May 1.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Omni Hotel for a special rate of $65.00 single and or $75.00 double occupancy.

Reservations must be made by April 8,1991, to be assured this rate.

For your convenience, reservation cards are enclosed.

Please return the enclosed pre-registration form to the NRC Region 11 office by April 15, 1991, indicating your attendees. There is no registration fee nor is there a limit on the number of individuals from your facilitics which are permitted to attend the we e p.
